AJW Foundation To educate, fight causes and change minds about mental health and its impact on families.
We are a peer-to-peer advocacy nonprofit, which understands the multifaceted concerns of caring for someone with a mental illness. We are also here to share personal stories by helping others make sense of stigma and fear associated with depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia—just to name a few. AJW Foundation educates families and the public on mental health issues. We are here to help families understand and manage the challenges surrounding the many types of disorders associated with mental health.
There are many issues related to mental health: Families, kids and teens learning in school, poverty, hunger, homelessness, job lost, the elderly, stigma and loneliness. Mental health touches a variety of groups and backgrounds. We know there is much misconceptions about how to help a family member cope with this disease, and how to assist the caregiver to manage the day-to-day struggle of keeping them safe.
What are some of our goals?
AJW Foundation vision is to make life easier for families dealing with mental health issues. If a parent is struggling to feed, cloth, or help in school preparation, (Books, school trips, monthly bus passes, etc.) AJW Foundation goal will assist with a living grant to help offset families in need.
If a parent is struggling to find services, peers and support groups in dealing with a child, teen or young adult, our mission is to find a solution to their family’s needs. Whether its support or services.
We know there are challenges in a list of communities that need special attention. The poor community, people of color, the elderly, bisexual, people with disabilities—regarding depression, pain and isolation. Meeting the needs of all types of mental stresses something we want to lend a hand in making families lives better. Join us by giving, volunteering or contributing your stories to educate others and with being of service.
The road is limitless in what we can accomplish for mental health. Join us.
